Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 4, 2026

FutariShift ("the app") is an iPhone app for couples to share work shifts and plans. The developer of the app ("we") does not collect any information about you.

Information we collect

None. We have no server and there is no account to register. Your shifts, plans, to-dos, photos and names are never received by us or by any third party.

Ads, analytics and third-party tools

The app contains no SDKs for advertising, analytics, crash reporting, tracking or sign-in. It uses no external libraries and is built only with Apple's standard frameworks. The app does not track you.

Where your data is stored

The shifts, plans, to-dos, photos and settings you enter are stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud (the private database of Apple's CloudKit). If you are not signed in to iCloud, they are stored only on your iPhone. Your iCloud data is managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and we cannot see its contents.

Field values saved to iCloud are stored with CloudKit encryption (encryptedValues). The only unencrypted value is the modification time used to decide which edit to keep when both of you edit at the same time. Photos attached to plans are stored as CloudKit files (assets) in your own iCloud.

Sharing with your partner

When you invite your partner, the shared area is shared with that person through iCloud sharing (CloudKit sharing). What is shared: both names and colors, shift patterns, shifts, and the plans, to-dos and photos marked as visible to your partner. Plans, to-dos and photos marked as not visible are stored in a separate area that is not shared. You send the invitation link yourself, for example by Messages; it does not go through us. You can stop sharing at any time in Settings.

Camera and photos

When you read shifts from a photo of a paper roster (taken with the camera or chosen from your photo library), the text is recognized on your iPhone with Apple's Vision framework. The roster image is not sent anywhere and is not saved. When you attach photos to a plan, the app reads only the photos you choose and stores them in your own iCloud as described above.

Calendar

Calendar access is used only to export shifts to the iPhone Calendar and to show your iPhone calendar events in the app. Both happen on your iPhone; calendar events are never sent anywhere.

Notifications

Shift alarms, plan reminders and notices of your partner's changes are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. There is no notification server.

Face ID and passcode lock

The app lock is verified by iOS (LocalAuthentication). Your face data and passcode are never accessible to the app, and are never stored or sent by it.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes the data on your iPhone. You can also delete shifts, plans and photos with "Delete all shifts and plans" in Settings (when syncing with iCloud, the same data in iCloud is deleted too). Data remaining in iCloud can be deleted from the iPhone Settings app > your name (Apple Account) > iCloud > Manage Storage.

Children

The app is not directed at children. It does not collect anyone's information.
